Make the right choice: Train with Pilates Place
The most important feature of your training is the kind of support you’ll receive. At Pilates Place, we work on a more personal level, so we offer the kind of support that other, larger, providers can’t: a place to practice, a place to teach, and a place to meet with other trainee teachers.
Training at Pilates Place means you’ll be confident and ready to teach at the end of the course. Read on to find out whether this course is the right for you...
What and where do we teach?
We teach Matwork Pilates from the classical repertoire, which means that it is based on the original exercises of Joseph Pilates. The training is delivered at the Pilates Place studio in Stratford.
How do we teach Pilates?
First and foremost, we will teach you to become a teacher. You will learn the original 34 Pilates exercises and modifications, and how to cue, correct, and modify them. The theory part of the course includes modules on Anatomy and Physiology and learning how to construct and plan a Pilates class.
Course structure
Candidates who take our Matwork Pilates course will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the following broad areas:
-
Anatomy and Physiology
-
Health and Safety

How are you assessed?
Your practical session will be observed by an assessor, when you teach a Pilates class that you have planned.
You are required to pass all the written modules.
How long does it take?
Everyone learns differently. At Pilates Place, we pride ourselves on being able to support everyone on their journey to becoming a Pilates instructor. Usually this course takes between 100-150 hours. However, it can take longer and sometimes it takes less time. How quickly you complete the course depends on how much time you are able to commit to studying.
